Would you like something more personal?
You can commission me to make a cyanotype print which is truly personal to you. It can be a plant, flower, or leaf that has a special meaning for you. Something from your own garden or preserve the memory from a beautiful bouquet such as a birthday or wedding. From a single leaf or flower to a full bouquet I can create a cyanotype to capture a special memory.
If you have a special garment, perhaps an old family heirloom or something new but important such as a christening gown or wedding veil, I can create blue and white cyanotype prints from those too. They won’t be damaged in the process and it’s a great way to display an object that would otherwise be hidden away in a cupboard or drawer. Size limitations mean that it may only be a section of a garment but please do contact me to discuss your requirements.

Lampshade
A client commissioned me to make a 40 cm lampshade. I was given free reign to create a design using a mixture of leaves. This was created on white cotton fabric using the wet cyanotype technique. I used tree leaves, including horse chestnut, mountain ash (rowan) and acer.

Guitars
A customer enquired about the possibility of making a cyanotype image of a guitar as a birthday gift for a music lover. This isn’t something I had tried before but was happy to give it a go.
After a telephone conversation about ideas, the customer emailed me a selection of photographs from the recipients guitar collection. I was able to use one of them to create a stencil of the guitar and experimented with different ways of incorporating some guitar sheet music into the image.
I created a selection of images and the customer was so delighted with the results they chose two of them!

Christening Gown
My client requested a cyanotype image of their mother’s christening gown. It was a 90 year old family heirloom that had been hidden away in storage for years. I was able to create a series of images including the under-petticoat, lace dress and a combined image of the two together.
My client was delighted with the end result which was given to their mother as a 90th birthday gift.

Wedding Bouquet
I was honoured to be asked to create a series of cyanotypes of a beautiful wedding bouquet. My client had been unable to attend their niece’s wedding due to Covid-19 restrictions but wanted a cyanotype print of the bouquet to give to the happy couple as a wedding present. As so few guests had been allowed to attend the wedding the bride was happy to pass on the bouquet immediately after the wedding and I was able to create a series of cyanotypes which meant that other members of the family could have a print too.

Brides Veil
I was asked to create a cyanotype photogram of a bridal veil, the wedding had taken place during the Covid-19 pandemic and they were unable to share their day with as many guests as they had originally planned. The veil was a beautifully embroidered net with tiny sequins and very detailed floral embroidery along the bottom edge. It was a very long veil so I was unable to capture the full length. However, a cyanotype is capable of recording the minutest detail and the beautiful embroidery has been captured in this stunning print.
