Wet Cyanotypes

Beyond The Blue

All of the images in this collection were created using locally found feathers and plant material from gardens and hedgerows. These images were created using an alternative to traditional cyanotypes. Paper is prepared in the same way as traditional cyanotypes but by introducing liquid to the pre-treated paper just before exposure to the sun, the colours and textures of the image are changed creating more painterly and sometimes abstract images. Jill uses liquids such as diluted white vinegar, soap suds and salt water to achieve the unusual colours and textures in these prints. More of Jill’s cyanotypes are available to purchase from her Etsy shop
